Nonsense- Serial Celtic winner slams outsiders attack

Nir Bitton has slammed outside criticism of Celtic as a nonsense claiming that everyone is playing for the manager.

After being dropped against Sparta Prague and Ross County the Israeli was recalled to face AC Milan in a three man defence alongside Hatem Abd Elhamed and Kris Ajer.

Whether it is a three, four or five man defence the results don’t seem to vary with Celtic losing four goals in each of their last three Europa League matches. The numbers don’t add up but the goals against tally is now standing at 17.

It’s nonsense what is being said on the outside. I have never heard anyone say they are not playing for the manager. We all have a good connection with him. At the end of the day, we play for ourselves, as well. We play for our pride, our families and for the fans.

There seems to be little possibility of Peter Lawwell doing a u-turn on his call for unity from the Celtic support but trust in the players, management and directors has almost run out.

In a potentially historic season a run of two wins in 11 matches should have alarm bells ringing all over the place but insulated from fan reaction inside empty stadiums it seems like the ‘nonsense’ will continue as Lawwell digs in on the man he appointed as manager in May 2019.
