Neil Lennon’s legacy as a manager that won five league titles for Celtic is in danger of being destroyed.

At times every manager has to put a brave face on things, talkin up performances rather than results but after another four goal drubbing in Europe it’s not really the time to boast about your leaky defence.

Seventeen goals lost over five matches is a horrendous record in the Europa League. Celtic have scored twice away to Lille and Milan which should be enough to take more than one point but in Celtic’s case they sit this morning with the worst record in the competition.

I thought that the two centre-half’s, despite conceding four goals had very good games as well

Shane Duffy and Chris Jullien have been in the centre of defence during the depressing Europa run, last night, despite his recent nightmare performance away to Hibs Nir Bitton was recalled to play alongside Kris Ajer and Hatem Abd Elhamed.

Whether it is a back three, four or five in front of Scott Bain or Vasilis Barkas the outcome is the same with supporters becoming used to the tired formula that leads to defeat.

With the backing of Peter Lawwell and Dermot Desmond its clear that Celtic’s problems don’t lie in the dug-out or dressing room but in the boardroom with the club’s virtual AGM just over a week away.
