Stuart Kettlewell has become the second SPFL Premiership boss to lose his job this season- being sacked by Ross County after today’s 2-0 defeat at home to Hamilton Accies. County are at Celtic Park on Wednesday.

Three weeks ago the Staggies were celebrating a Betfred Cup win over Celtic but following four successive defeats without scoring a goal Kettlewell has been sacked. Last month Gary Holt resigned as manager of Livingston.

Whoever takes over will find a club sitting four points adrift at the bottom of the SPFL table in their second season back in the top flight.

The last time that County were relegated, in season 2017/18, they went through three managers with Jim McIntyre replaced by Owen Coyle before Kettlewell and Steven Kettlewell stepped up as co-managers.

Ferguson moved aside to become CEO in June 2020 but the decision to sack Kettlewell will almost certainly have been taken by chairman Roy McGregor.

Ross Doohan, on loan from Celtic made five appearances before missing the Betfred Cup tie after joining on loan once Celtic signed Vasilis Barkas.
