Neil Lennon’s new look side finished their Europa League group with a flourish, beating Lille 3-2 to record their first win of the competition.

David Turnbull, starting his second match since his transfer from Motherwell was the star man, capping his display with his first goal, the 75th minute winner.

Chris Jullien  glanced in a corner from Turnbull in the 22nd minute but within two minutes of the restart a slip by Callum McGregor allowed Ikone to put Lille back on level terms.

McGregor showed his qualities to step up and put the hoops back in front from the penalty spot but it was at the expense of Jeremie Frimpong who went off injured to be replaced by Ewan Henderson.

Celtic had the better of the second half but in the 71st minute Timo Weah levelled when he netted from 15 yards off a headed clearance.

The hoops weren’t to be denied however, some silky footwork from Kris Ajer created the opening with Turnbull guiding a low shot home from just inside the edge of the penalty box.
