David Turnbull was as modest in front of the cameras as he had been impressive on the pitch, beforehand against Lille.
Patience has been more than a virtue; it has been essential over the last 18 months since he went for a Celtic medical in the summer of 2019.
Turnbull went back to the drawing board at Motherwell, completed his rehab, returned to action and got his move to Celtic- completed the day after the Champions League exit to Ferencvaros.

Starting against St Johnstone at the beginning of October didn’t do him any favours, in common with the others in the Starting XI it was a day to forget.
After watching a 12 match run that brought just two wins for his new club from the sidelines Turnbull returned to the team-sheet to face Lille- and didn’t mess about.
Now there is expectation on the 21-year-old, by his performance and words it looks like he is ready to grasp it with both hands. Finally.
