The Green Brigade were quick to react to the news that after 17 long years Peter Lawwell is stepping down as Celtic CEO.

In recent weeks the Ultras Group has made their opposition to the club hierarchy very public with punchy banners outside the main entrance that have largely been well received by other fans.

The Green Brigade warned for a number of years against the dangers of Falling Asleep at the Wheel but alas like most supporter comment and feelings they went largely ignored.

A run of desperate results this season came to a head when fans demonstrated outside the ground following the defeat from Ross County and draw with St Johnstone. The disconnect between the club and supporters was obvious but the protests had nothing to do with the Green Brigade.

Alongside The Celtic Trust a peaceful pre-match demonstration was organised before the home win over Kilmarnock in December.

Lawwell’s exit in June will be welcomed but as the banners demonstrate the team manager and majority shareholder have also been pivotal to this season’s disastrous results.
