John Swinney has become the first Scottish Government official to respond to Neil Lennon’s claim that the goalposts were moved regarding protocols for Celtic’s trip to Dubai.
After one positive test from the trip the Celtic boss was stunned to find himself and 13 players forced to self isolate after falling foul of Social Distancing rules.
Lennon was forced to look on remotely as Celtic dropped points to Hibs and Livingston to pile more pressure on his position, in-between those matches Peter Lawwell issued a very uncomfortable apology.
The @CelticFC Dubai fall out rumbles on. After manager Neil Lennon said there was an ‘agenda’ and something ‘political’ about the self-isolations, deputy first minister John Swinney on @BBCRadioScot called his comments “absolutely appalling” and that he was “lost for words”

Celtic have clearly distanced themselves from Lennon’s comments with no coverage on their Twitter account or You Tube channel.
Andy Walker and Sky Sports were among Lennon’s targets but yesterday Celtic provided the broadcaster with access to Ryan Christie for a pre-match interview in clear contradiction to Lennon’s access ban.
Sky Sports will cover tonight’s match with their contract requiring pre and post match access to the Celtic management- which could see John Kennedy put in front of the cameras.
