Alex Dyer becomes the fourth SPFL managerial casualty of the season

|

Alex Dyer has left Kilmarnock by mutual consent after a run of just two wins in 11 matches.

This afternoon Kilmarnock raced into a 2-0 half-time lead against St Johnstone but a second half collapse saw the visitors score three times to claim full points.

The result takes the Perth side three points above Killie who are in fourth bottom position, five points clear of Hamilton at the foot of the table.

Dyer arrived at Rugby Park with Steve Clarke and continued as assistant when Angelo Alessio took over, in December 2019 he became caretaker boss then took the job on on a permanent basis.

So far Ross County, Livingston and Motherwell have changed manager with all eyes on Celtic to see if Neil Lennon will follow Stuart Kettlewell, Stephen Robinson, Gary Holt and Dyer onto the managerial scrapheap.

Celtic face Kilmarnock on Wednesday night at Rugby Park.
