Celtic have contacted the Editor of the Glasgow Times for an explanation over a derogatory headline reference to Neil Lennon which they published.

A year ago Celtic were in discussions with Sky Sports over their interpretation of an interview with Alfredo Morelos that wrongly accused Celtic fans of racist actions.

The headline used in the Glasgow Times highlighted the way in which mainstream publishers are merging more with Social Media and the vile and abusive terms accepted on many Message Boards.

Tomorrow Celtic will host a Zoom media conference to preview their match at Livingston on Wednesday with invites sent out to favoured media outlets.

The Glasgow Times is part of the same group as The Herald with content shared across the titles, often with no change despite differing target markets.

Last year the Evening Times decided to rebrand online as the Glasgow Times but like all mainstream publishers they face a major battle for survival against falling readership and the migration of advertising to digital platforms.

In 2008 the Sunday Herald, part of the same newspaper group, published an apology for using an offensive term in reference to Celtic supporters.
