Celtic fans looked to have been delivered some good news around 4pm when Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports News tweeted that Ben Davies had signed a pre-contract agreement to join the hoops.
Not long earlier it had been announced that his Preston team-mate, Ben Pearson, was close to joining Bournemouth with the two clubs agreeing terms. Pearson has also been linked with Celtic.

With the 2020/21 season being the most painful of this century within an hour Alison Conroy of Super Scoreboard had contradictory news.
Pre-contract agreements are fairly rare but it was telling that there was no word from Celtic about the Davies deal, the club has rarely been more in need of good news.
What the exact state of play is no-one can currently tell, until word comes directly from Celtic it will all be informed guess work, with Davies it looks like someone has jumped the gun.
