David Low gives his verdict on Celtic’s incoming CEO Dominic McKay

David Low has described incoming Celtic CEO Dominic McKay as another financial hard man.

With Peter Lawwell stepping down at the end of June McKay will find himself thrust into a very testing time for the club on a number of fronts.

There seems virtually no chance of 60,000 fans being able to attend matches next season which makes the bedrock finance from Season Ticket holders a huge issue while key players move on and in all likelihood a new manager beds in.

Over the last 12 month all of the old financial norms have been challenged but as a Glaswegian involved at a high level in Scottish sport McKay should be familiar with the scale of the issues he is taking on.

Celtic and the SRU have worked on a number of issues with the Scottish Government in attempts to get fans back inside stadiums.

As many have pointed out having a CEO in place for 17 years is considered unhealthy, throughout Celtic this morning employees will be coming to terms with an incoming new boss for the first time since they joined the club.

A major bridge-building exercise with supporters will be required, genuine involvement and communication rather than an annual appeal to the #celticfamily for Season Ticket monies.
