Dudu Dahan, the agent for Hatem Abd Elhamed has hit out at Fake News surrounding the defender.

Elahamed hasn’t been in a Celtic match day squad since starting the Europa League defeat from AC Milan with a couple of stories surfacing that he wanted to leave Celtic to be reunited with his wife and two sons who had returned to Israel.

Recently Mrs Elhamed has been posting numerous pictures cooking in Glasgow with the two children playing around in and out of their apartment.

There hasn’t been any comment from Celtic on the situation but four Israeli clubs, led by his former team, Hapoel Be’er Sheva are reported to be interested in signing the Celtic defender. A permanent deal and matching contract seems highly unlikely with £1.6m at the high end of Israeli transfer fees.

According to Transfermarkt Be’er Sheva paid £1.08m to sign Elhamed from Ashdod in 2017, paying 50% more than that four years later in the current circumstances looks unlikely. Last season the £1.35m paid to Beitar Jerusalem for David Keltjens was the highest transfer fee paid with the next fee just £563,000 paid to Hapoel Raanana for Qays Ghanem.

If the player is happy and settled at Celtic there is no issue with a contract running through until June 2023.
