The Green Brigade, under the twitter account North Curve Celtic, has endorsed the banner outside of Celtic Park portraying Peter Lawwell as the infamous Iraqi General Ali.

During the 2003 Gulf War in Iraq, Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf, to use his proper name became renowned for delivering upbeat messages on Iraqi TV despite obvious evidence to the contrary.

After four seasons of complete domination of Scottish football the wheels have came off spectacularly at Celtic this season with one calamity after another.

Lawwell has kept a generally low profile but after protests from supporters outside of the stadium in November he made two statements with one promising a managerial review in the new year.

On the second day of 2021 Celtic lost the Glasgow derby 1-0 at Ibrox but that appears to be a minor inconvenience compared to the catalogue of errors since the club decided to go ahead with a training trip to Dubai.

Images of Scott Brown and Neil Lennon drinking poolside were followed quickly by Scotland going into lockdown and the First Minister questioning the purpose of the Dubai trip.

On Sunday Celtic announced that they had recorded one positive test, by noon today 13 players were self isolating along with Neil Lennon and John Kennedy.

The club has issued a statement, basically standing by the Dubai trip but throughout a week of bad news Lawwell has maintained a silence while Celtic’s season appears to be crumbling all around.
