Someone might have told Peter Lawwell that an apology direct to Celtic supporters through a video message would be a good idea.

Wednesday’s video message from a pale and puffy CEO has had the opposite effect with the apology over Dubai balanced out by a lengthy justification for the trip and an appeal for the fans to continue backing a doomed campaign and a board that recently put barricades up around the main entrance to the stadium.

Since the video message the focus of anger has switched from Neil Lennon firmly onto the hunched shoulders of Lawwell.

The relationship between the support and the current custodians is beyond repair.

The main banner leaves no one in any doubt, 60,000 Season Tickets are at stake if the highest paid Chief Executive in British sport remains in position.

Lawwell became Chief Executive of Celtic in October 2003, since then he has been involved in six managerial appointments with Neil Lennon becoming the permanent manager in May 2019 after the Scottish Cup final win over Hearts.
