Barry Ferguson believes that Celtic’s strike pairing should come with a health warning.
For the first two months of this year Neil Lennon watched his side take 28 points out of 30 led by the goals of Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths.
A fortnight ago Griffiths had just one starting appearance to his name with that ending after 45 minutes at home to AC Milan.
Since coming off the bench to score against Hearts in the Scottish Cup Final Griffiths has started three matches- rekindling his partnership with Edouard and getting among the goals.
It isn’t certain that Edouard and Griffiths will start at Ibrox today but if they do Ferguson admits that they carry a special threat as he warned Daily Record readers:
What I would say though is that any team sheet that has the names of Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths written on it should come with its own health warning.
Rangers will have to be alert to the danger this pair provide. Take your eye off either of them for a split second and they’ll make you pay.
But I really do believe Gerrard and his players are more than aware of what will be required. They know this is their chance to go for the throat. Just as Celtic know this could be their last chance to get back on their feet.
Neil Lennon’s biggest decision will come in defence where much will depend on the availability of Chris Jullien.
The Frenchman was stretchered off against Dundee United on Wednesday with no word since then on the extent of the injury.
