Furious Ibrox fans were left even more furious than usual last night by quotes attributed to Irvine Welsh on Hibs TV.

Why they weren’t watching their side on Sky Sports is something of a mystery but it seems that a few earthy comments about Alfredo Morelos have upset the sophisticated, broad-minded, liberal leaning Ibrox clientele.

The author of Trainspotting was brought up in Edinburgh housing schemes with that real life novel reflecting his own view of life rather than the sugar-coated version more fashionable in media circles.

Welsh was a guest of Hibs TV last night which as usual was hosted by David Tanner. The Sky Sports reject is never slow to put the boot into Celtic but has infuriated the Ibrox fan-base by failing to challenge or correct Welsh for his comments about Morelos.

The Colombian star was upto his usual tricks last night, stamping on Ryan Porteous early in the match in full view of Kevin Clancy who told Jack Ross that he viewed it as a tangle of legs. Television viewers saw it differently with Kris Boyd admitting that it should have been a red card.

Morelos scored the only goal of the game early in the second half. In 26 SPFL Premiership matches this season the Ibrox club haven’t conceded a penalty or had a player sent off.
