Kris Commons has asked one of the key questions about Celtic’s training trip to Dubai.

Around 30 players and 10 members of staff made the trip with the club claiming to have followed every protocol.

In UEFA ties Celtic have travelled to Bosnia, Latvia, France, Italy and the Czech Republic as well as spending a week in France for pre-season training and matches without any issues.

With the trip to Dubai involving a seven hour flight in each direction the club had to ensure social distancing at all times but when Chris Jullien’s test result came back one area of the team was harder hit than any other.

All four strikers were deemed to be close contacts of the Frenchman as well as Moi Elyounoussi who is top scorer this season with 12 goals.

After throwing in Cameron Harper against Hibs in midweek Celtic faced Livingston with no strikers- making Tom Rogic improvise into a role that he looked deeply uncomfortable in.

Picking up on his Daily Mail column, The Sun reports Commons saying:

This is Celtic at Celtic Park against Livingston. There are no excuses. The fact there was no recognised striker is entirely Celtic’s own fault.

Why on earth, at the very least, wasn’t the squad put into two bubbles for Dubai, with the four strikers split two and two? That would have been common sense. There’s just not a lot of that being applied to any situation in there right now.

Celtic are expected to have a full squad, minus James Forrest and Chris Jullien available for Wednesday’s match at Livingston.
