Celtic fans were left in a state of shock as the details emerged from Neil Lennon’s explosive media conference.
The Irishman was pictured arriving at Lennoxtown this morning but with the game against Livingston on Wednesday he wasn’t expected to meet the media in a Zoom call until tomorrow.
A second positive case was the first piece of news to emerge from the lunchtime conference but that was almost tame in comparison to what quickly followed.
Lennon went on an incredible defence of Celtic’s trip to Dubai even though it left the squad decimated for the matches against Hibs and Livingston with Peter Lawwell looking deeply uncomfortable as he went through a very difficult apology.
There was no prospect of an apology from Lennon as he took aim at the media, pundits and politicians for their comments and analysis on the most counter-productive trip Celtic have made this century.
Anything that could go wrong went wrong, today the team manager put icing on the cake with the CEO or Chairman surely looking to step in and suspend Lennon while the Dubai trip is fully investigated.

Oh God I’m actual cringing. Lost all respect for him. No remorse at all.

Even as a Celtic fan I just have to give up caring and laugh at this. The guy has completely lost it. And it’s because he’s got this untouchable feeling from the board by them refusing to sack him. Neil, I respect all you’ve done for us, but you’re making a fool of yourself now.

So to recap everyone is to blame apart from Lennon and Lawwell ??

Are the Celtic PR department on furlough? This is just one embarrassment after another.

If Neil Lennon felt as strongly for Celtic as he did for this Dubai trip, he’d have walked in October.
Totally contradicts Lawwell’s apology. Seriously, what’s the club line on this? It’s an absolute shambles. https://t.co/f0EH4ipNK6

Got to leave now, he’s lost it totally https://t.co/257QNjBenw

I think Neil Lennon needs to leave for Himself more than anything. Just listened to him & its clear needs time away from football & professional help. Everyone apart from him & lawwell can see the problems & have done for some time. His legacy at the club is dissolving fast ?

That’s the most worrying press conference yet as it suggests he is going no where quick..
