Police Scotland have confirmed that they are investigating abusive comments and singing from Ibrox on Saturday.

Footage of the scenes appeared on Social Media with Police Officers and club Stewards trying to contain the incidents after two Celtic coaches arrived and started to unload.

It appeared as though no more than 20 supporters were involved in the sense which came on the day both clubs marked the 50th anniversary of the Ibro Disaster when 66 people died.

With CCTV overage outside the stadium it shouldn’t be too difficult to track the culprits with the Celtic coaches arriving at around 11am for the fixture.

The Sun reports:

Police Scotland Superintendent Stevie Dolan said: “We can confirm that an investigation is ongoing into abusive comments and singing around the time of the Celtic FC team coach arriving at Ibrox Stadium prior to the football match on Saturday, 2 January. This is an active enquiry and no arrests have been made at this stage.”

Security around the stadium for visiting players and math officials is a matter for the home club.
