Hibs could be in line for a current bun fine from the SFA!

Irvine Welsh used that term during their coverage of last night’s match which was only available to Easter Road Season Ticket holders with Sky Sports beaming it to their subscribers.

Sensitive Ibrox fans have picked up on the term and swamped Social Media about its use with some claiming to have contacted Ofcom on the issue.

David Tanner hosted the show that had Welsh in as a guest with the former Sky Sports anchor-man well versed with what sort of language can be used.

Following up on the Ibrox anger today The Sun reports:

Welsh’s colourful language is well-known but Gers supporters took exception to his comments, with 14 members of the public putting in complaints to communications body Ofcom. Hibs made the footage available this morning, before it was swiftly withdrawn.

But SunSport understands SFA bosses will now ask the Easter Road side to supply the footage as it considers whether any breach of the association’s Rule 73 has taken place.  While Welsh wasn’t an employee of Hibs or Hibs TV, it would be the capital club who would be held accountable for his actions.

Despite two partial stadium closers at Ibrox  by UEFA during the 2019/20 season for racist actions by supporters the SFA and SPFL have never taken action against the club formed by Charles Green in 2012.
