The Green Brigade has given Peter Lawwell a blunt message as the 61-year-old winds down with his final weeks in charge of Celtic.

While Neil Lennon and Scott Brown delivered emotional tributes to the man that negotiated their recent contracts the Green Brigade weren’t falling into line.

Across the footprint of Celtic Park posters appeared earlier this morning with the Ultras Group giving their verdict on the man who steered the club to a 23 point deficit halfway through what had been billed as a historic season.

Lennon and Brown were quick to highlight the domestic honours that Celtic have won during the last 17 years but there wasn’t much mention of the European record under Lawwell.

Over the last decade the qualification route has been altered to suit clubs like Celtic, in 2009 Tony Mowbray’s side faced a qualifier against Arsenal with Lennon failing to overcome Cluj or Ferencvaros before the Play Off round.

Many Celtic supporters believe that Lawwell has been the driving force in recent success, perhaps forgetting income dropping to £52m under Ronny Deila in 2016 but the Green Brigade have made it clear that no tears are being shed for the outgoing CEO.
