David Tanner tried a subtle attempt at Old Firm point scoring but like everything he has tried since leaving the Auto-cue machine at Sky Sports he ended up putting the ball in his own net.
Praising anyone in a blazer from Ibrox is second nature for Tanner who decided that today was a good time to highlight Mister Gerrard using a mask. It was the first time that the Ibrox boss has worn a mask this season, clearly looking uncomfortable his nose became visible during the interview.
With Emma Dodds being recruited as the face of ‘Rangers TV’ this season Tanner has found himself fronting Hibs TV to Season Ticket holders while trying to create a personality to gain a foothold in the mainstream media. With just 12,000 followers on Twitter he has a lot of work to do.
TalkSPORT have called on the former Sky Sports anchor-man, a recent video interview with Gordon Strachan and Gary Locke to preview the Scottish Cup Final barely mustered 100 viewers on You Tube.
Tanner however does get a regular invite onto Celtic’s Zoom media conferences.
