Neil Lennon’s media conference on Monday will be remembered as one of the most explosive ever by a Celtic manager.
Martin O’Neill had a few outbursts during his five years in charge but other than Lennon most of the others that have followed him have been fairly mellow and measured.
On Monday afternoon tweets started to emerge followed by video clips but all of them lacked one aspect- context.
When the full question is heard as well as the answer things can appear very differently from first appearance with skilled editing allowing almost any narrative to be shaped.
Adding to the confusion was Celtic’s refusal to Tweet from the conference then the decision not to upload the conference onto their You Tube channel which left Lennon isolated, looking disowned by the club.
Despite a promise from Peter Martin PLZ Soccer haven’t uploaded the full media conference with other broadcasters selecting their favourite sections to tie in with their interpretations.
The full audio was played on Radio Scotland’s Sportsound on Monday with fans still with some fans angered by Lennon’s anger while other are highlighting allegations of a retrospective review of protocols from the Scottish Government.

Listening to it all I don’t think it comes across as bad. Would like to understand the change in protocols travelling to and from games/training etc. Surely the rules should be what was published at the time not retrospective? Main issue is lack of sincere apology for trip

Shouldn’t have went to dubai. Error in judgement. Moving the goalposts retrospectively after approval also not acceptable. The snippets come at the end of a frustratingly repetitive interview.
