Neil Lennon has handed responsibility for his future over to the Celtic board.

Last night the Irishman watched another couple of points fall by the wayside due to the haphazard defending that has characterised Celtic’s season.

Like the autumn run that saw Celtic lose four matches on the bounce the hoops are back to losing two goals a game with a simple ball into the centre of defence causing panic.

Shane Duffy and Nir Bitton played throughout the 90 plus minutes but like their previous performances few of the watching Celtic supporters are convinced that either should be on the park.

Now, after four matches without a win in 2021, Lennon is at a loss to come up with solutions but bringing about a change is a decision that Peter Lawwell will have to take.

Lennon told The Sun:

I won’t walk away, absolutely. A month ago we won the Treble. If the club need to make a decision, they make a decision. You’re asking the wrong guy and I’m fed up answering it.

Everyone seems interested in my job. I’ll be here until told otherwise. I’m very conscientious about the work.

Celtic’s next match is on Wednesday at home to Hamilton Accies with fans looking towards Lawwell for signs of leadership and the result of the promised new year managerial review.
