After announcing his upcoming move to Celtic last Friday Dom McKay returned to twitter this morning but there was nothing in it for hoops fans.
Today is Calcutta Cup day for rugby fans with the man at the SRU keeping his focus on Twickenham rather than the unravelling of Celtic’s season.
Kick-off time at Twickenham is at 4.45 which ties in neatly with the end of the Celtic match but McKay is likely to have more on his mind than whether Neil Lennon can get a positive performance out of his squad after contrasting displays against St Mirren and Kilmarnock.
Peter Lawwell’s successor doesn’t officially take over as CEO until July 1 but he is bound to be formulating some ideas about the way forward at Celtic.
Scotland’s final match in the Six Nations is on March 20 at home to Italy which should tie up much of McKay’s workload before he embarks on a far more demanding role where he will initially be assessed and judged on an almost day-to-day basis.
Wishing @Scotlandteam players and coaches the very best of luck today for the Calcutta Cup clash against @EnglandRugby sport has a powerful role in lifting the nations spirits????????today’s clash represents 150 years of sporting rivalry and unique moments #AsOne @SixNationsRugby pic.twitter.com/NaAfVBUrIr
