Celtic have still to decide on whether to send Ewan Henderson on loan to Dundee.

Despite the transfer window closing on Monday Development Loans can still be made with SPFL clubs below Premiership level.

Henderson came on as a substitute in Celtic’s Europa League win over Lille and also against Hibs and Livingston when 13 players had to self-isolate.

Sending the 20-year-old out to get regular Championship football would seem a positive move for all involved but speaking to Dundee boss James McPake about the midfielder, the Evening Telegraph reports:

There hasn’t been any developments on that. We knew about him at Ross County and has played in the Celtic first team this year. It came to us at the end of the window but we know it can happen any time this month. We are waiting on Celtic.

Jonathan Afolabi is already on loan at Dundee but has only started three Championship matches with another six appearances coming off the bench.

Loan options are very limited with two part-time teams in The Championship and the two lower divisions currently suspended.

In January 2019 Celtic announced that Henderson had signed a contract keeping him at the club ‘until at least 2022’.
