Peter Lawwell has arrived at Lennoxtown for a lunchtime meeting with the Celtic squad.

Late last night word leaked out that Neil Lennon was leaving, at 7am it was announced to the Stock Market that he had resigned as manager.

As recently as Sunday night in Dingwall the Irishman was talking up his ability to oversee the rebuild required in the summer but 48 hours later he had decided to step down.

John Kennedy has stepped in as Interim Manager but other than an announcement including comments from Lennon, Lawwell and Dermot Desmond at 7am on the club website there has been nothing further from the club.

At 11.51 on their rolling Celtic blog, Sky Sports report:

LAWWELL AND CELTIC PLAYERS ARRIVE FOR TRAINING

Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell and captain Scott Brown have arrived at the club’s training ground after the news early this morning of Lennon’s resignation.

With no midweek fixture Celtic’s focus is on Saturday’s match against Aberdeen as they attempt to delay the title presentation across the city.

As it stands Celtic have eight matches left to play with doubts over whether the Scottish Cup will be played this season.
