Celtic’s nightmare season continued tonight with a 1-0 defeat to Ross County who started the night in bottom place in the SPFL Premiership.

Since the turn of the year the hoops have shipped 15 points and now sit 18 points adrift in second spot with eight  matches to play.

Previewing the match for Sunday newspapers Neil Lennon rallied against the claim that this season had been an unmitigated disaster. It seems that five wins on the bounce led to over confidence from the Celtic boss.

Hinting at what the side could achieve with a winning run until the end of the season that wish didn’t survive 24 hours as Jordan White scored the only goal of the game midway through the second half. It was yet another goal lost from a set piece.

In midweek Celtic chairman Ian Bankier warned against making hasty decisions, some would claim that it would be a hasty decision to keep Lennon in charge for Saturday’s match against Aberdeen.

Earlier in the season County, then under Stuart Kettlewell, put Celtic out of the Betfred Cup.
