Scott Robertson enjoyed a winning Doncaster debut, coming on for the last half hour of Saturday’s 3-2 win over Oxford United who included Brandon Barker in their side.

Robertson made a brief return to Celtic after the Dubai training trip but headed out on loan after making 15 League One appearances for Gillingham in the first part of the season.

Saturday’s win over Oxford kept Doncaster in second place in League One, ahead of Hull City in alphabetical order but having played three matches less.

Last season Robertson made his Celtic debut in the dead-rubber Europa League tie away to Cluj but was unable to build on that with competition fierce for midfield places.

Over the last two months David Turnbull and Ismaila Soro have forced their way into the team with a big turnover of players expected in the summer.

Like Kerr McInroy at Dunfermline, Robertson will be hoping that a getting a season’s worth of first team football will help him make in-roads towards a place in the Celtic midfield.
