Kemar Roofe has taken to Instagram announcing that he’ll have to accept the punishment after the SFA rejected his appeal against a two match suspension.

He will also accept the win bonus from a match in which he should have been sent off after 20 minutes had referee David Munro been able to apply the Laws of the Game.

Twenty minutes into last weeks match with St Johnstone Roofe decided to go over the ball and sink his boot into the lower leg of Murray Davidson.

Munro had a clear view of the incident, taking his time to walk over he reached for the yellow card, allowing the striker to complete the match.

I have to accept the punishment and keep it positive. Thanks for all our messages. #Gers.

Steven Gerrard was already without Alfredo Morelos for the St Johnstone game after he had been given a two match suspension for stamping on Ryan Porteous. After accepting the suspension Mister Gerrard called for more consistency from the SFA.

The Roofe case was the third time in two months that an Ibrox players was given a retrospective suspension. In all three matches the incidents occurred in the first half with Gerrard’s side going on to win by a single goal.

Incredibly in 28 SPFL matches the Ibrox company haven’t had a single player sent off or conceded a penalty.
