Like the club from Ibrox it seems like the SFA are slow out of the blocks to deal with football’s latest Covidiots.

On Sunday February 14 Police Scotland confirmed that 10 Fixed Penalties had been handed out following a house party in Hayburn Crescent in Glasgow’s West End. An hour earlier the Ibrox club issued a statement about an internal investigation.

After four full working days the SFA have yet to comment. The extent of the ‘marking our own homework’ Ibrox investigation is unknown, did any of the players involved report for training or treatment later on Sunday, did the club call in Track and Trace experts?

On Monday the First Minister commented on the matter, clearly she is fed up with football people doing their own thing as typified by the comments of Livingston boss Dave Martindale.

The least that should be expected from the SFA is action as prompt as they applied in November to Jordan Jones and George Edmondson.

In the early hours of November 2, following a match at Kilmarnock, Jones and Edmundson were given Fixed Penalties, around 12.15 their club announced that they were being suspended with no media questions asked to the First Minister.

On November 4 BBC Scotland reported:

Rangers’ Jordan Jones and George Edmundson have been charged by the Scottish FA for Covid-19 breaches. The Ibrox club suspended the pair after they attended a party on Sunday, with it being reported that police were called to disperse the gathering.

Jones, 26, and Edmundson, 23, are being investigated by Rangers officials but now also face a notice of complaint from the governing body. Both men are isolating for 14 days and a hearing has been set for 19 November.

Both players were given seven match suspensions.

Should the Scottish Government step in and postpone matches for Covidiots?

Five days after the latest Fixed Penalties the SFA has still to charge any of the Ibrox Five. James Tavernier is likely to be out injured for the next few weeks.
