On Wednesday morning the Daily Mail carried a story that James Tavernier was carrying a mystery injury, the story was picked up by The Sun and others.

During an in-house media interview in which the Covidiot Five were named Gerrard claimed that it was FAKE NEWS in a tribute to former US President Donald Trump.

Tav, as he is affectionaly known, flew to Belgium and wore the armband of dignity as he led his side out to face Royal Antwerp- the disaster struck.

Early in the match one of the Belgian’s fouled the Ibrox skipper who bravely shrugged it aside. In the 18th minute he pulled up after what looked like a clash of knees but after treatment he played on although soon afterwards he decided to sit down.

Treatment resumed, Tav returned, but after a short run and pass of the ball he was on the deck again with Leon Ballogun sent on as a substitute.

The usual deputy, Nathan Paterson was unavailable, sitting at home in self-isolation after his weekend exploits and Fixed Penalty.
