Patryk Klimala comes in to start just his third SPFL match of the season with John Kennedy making minimal changes to the Celtic side that lost 1-0 away to Ross County.

That proved to be one defeat to many for Neil Lennon with the other change forced by the injury to Greg Taylor with Diego Laxalt coming in at left-back.

The two teams met 10 days ago in the SPFL with an early goal from David Turnbull securing a home win. Tellingly after the match Kennedy was on media duties.

Aberdeen did halt their own grim run of results with a 1-0 win over Kilmarnock last Saturday but it didn’t do much towards improving the mood of supporters towards Derek McInnes.

Third place is looking beyond Aberdeen this season but as the longest serving manager in the top flight McInnes knows a thing or two about survival.

18-yearpold striker Adam Montgomery is named as a substitute for the first time.

CELTIC: Bain; Kenny, Ajer, Welsh, Laxalt; Christie, Brown, McGregor, Turnbull; Edouard, Klimala

SUBS: Hazard, Duffy, Griffiths, Ajeti, Soro, Elyounoussi, Henderson, Adam Montgomery, Ralston
