For the second week running Celtic enjoyed a 4-0 win on the road as Neil Lennon’s side strike some sort of form.
In-between those runaway wins the hoops had fallen away badly in the last 20 minutes of the 2-1 win over Motherwell but there were no signs of fatigue tonight.
Lennon started with the same side that had lined up against Motherwell with Tom Rogic justifying his place ahead of Ryan Christie by curling in the opener after 16 minutes.
St Mirren stayed in the game till late on but after conceding a 79th minute penalty tucked away by Odsonne Edouard their resistance was broken with Christie and David Turnbull scoring in quick succession.
The only downside on the night was a foot injury to Stephen Welsh midway through the second half, after four minutes of treatment he was stretchered off and replaced by Shane Duffy.
On Sunday Celtic go to St Johnstone looking for a fourth successive win.
