Neil Lennon rightly seemed bemused by the question put to him by Kheredine Idesanne of BBC Scotland at today’s media conference.
The BBC reporter tweeted his version of the exchange but when the full video was published by Celtic it put the story in a very different light.
Without having viewed his Friday conference following Peter Lawwell’s announcement that he was stepping down, Idesanne asked if Lennon would be leaving at the same time as the outgoing CEO.
While there is plenty of speculation about Lennon’s future absolutely no-one has suggested that his own contract is tied in with Lawwell. Some managers might be closely associated with a CEO but not to the extend of having linked departures.
Lennon has twice been appointed as manager by Lawwell, most recently in May 2019 when he signed a 12 month rolling contract.

Celtic are hoping to complete the loan signing of Jonjoe Kenny from Everton on loan until the end of the season.
