Why Jesse Marsch would agree to an interview with the BBC is unknown, why he would go into great depth about the appeal of the Celtic job is intriguing.
If Steven Gerrard went into detail to an Austrian broadcaster about the appeal of managing Rapid Vienna folk might become suspicious.
At this minute Peter Lawwell is CEO at Celtic, if he isn’t following up on the interview from Marsch then the problems at the club are deeper than anticipated.
When Brendan Rodgers left for Leicester City in February 2019 Lawwell didn’t consider any other candidate such was his total belief in Neil Lennon. That decision didn’t end well, perhaps making contact with the Austrian-based American would help salvage something of Lawwell’s shattered legacy.
