The Gonzagga Twitter account has suggested that some big questions are being asked about a Glasgow football team and their miraculous testing results this season. The club is unlikely to be Celtic.
After lying dormant for virtually a decade the Gonzagga account sprung into action last month with a number of Celtic related tweets. Closer inspection of the account suggested that it seemed very close to the Desmond family.
Throughout this season Celtic have been regularly hampered by testing issues. In October following a Scotland squad meeting Ryan Christie was deemed to be a close contact of Stuart Armstrong. The Celtic player disputed the claim but was forced to miss a Glasgow derby. Arsenal ignored the same ruling on Kieran Tierney.
In January Neil Lennon hit out at the moving of goal-posts that resulted in 13 Celtic players being ruled as close contacts of Chris Jullien who tested positive from the January trip to Dubai. Lennon and John Kennedy were also ruled to be close contacts with a shadow squad dropping four points in two matches.
An SPFL team had one positive Covid result, submitted information to GGC health protection team and satisfied them that, despite training, the player had no close contacts. Same club have shamelessly ran rough shot over Covid regulations in the last 24 hours. Big Q’s being asked.

In contrast the Ibrox club have enjoyed some incredibly good fortune. On Day 1 of pre-season training Steven Gerrard set the tone by car sharing with Michael Beale to training. No action was taken by the SFA.
In July the club went ahead with a pre-season friendly against Dundee United, fielding eight players who hadn’t returned negative tests in the previous four days. Two assistant referees were denied access to Murray Park for the same reasons. The SFA took no action.
In February Nathan Patterson and four team mates were given Fixed Penalties by Police Scotland for attending a house party. More than three weeks later no action has been taken by the SFA. James Tavernier has a sore leg.
