John Kennedy has admitted that Celtic have concerns to address but warned that massive overhauls don’t often work.

Yesterday’s 0-0 draw at Dundee United was the latest disappointment in a stuttering season where next to nothing has worked with the team and squad a shadow of the one that showed such promise less than three years ago.

Quality players have been sold off with cheap replacements proving to be a false economy with the repeated European failures seeping into domestic performances.

Scott Sinclair, Moussa Dembele and Kieran Tierney have been replaced by Marian Shved, Patryk Klimala and Diego Laxalt with only the pay packet of Peter Lawwell (£3.5m in 2019) benefiting as results and quality plummet.

A massive rebuilding job is required throughout every area of the club with Lawwell stepping aside after 17 years of control.

Kennedy told The Sun:

How things move on is a decision for the board, how they structure things and what they want to change but ultimately it’s about having the core group there, adding to that and getting better.

I think there’s always panic in these moments and it can be very emotional at times, especially in the city of Glasgow where it’s always Celtic and Rangers.

Yes, there have been concerns this year which have to be addressed but massive overhauls don’t often work so we have to be stable in terms of the end of the season. We know what we have to fix and we have to make sure we fix it.

Since announcing the resignation of Neil Lennon on February 23 there has been no comment from Celtic about a restructure. John Kennedy is in place as Interim Manager with Dom McKay taking over as CEO on July 1.
