John Collins has named four candidates that he’d like to see manage Celtic with Frank Lampard making the short list.
The former Celtic midfielder had a successful but brief dabble in management with Hibs but despite his obvious credentials has struggled to find a post playing role in the game.
When Ronny Deila was appointed as Celtic manager in 2014 Collins was a surprise appointment to be his assistant but allowing an accountant to hand pick a management team didn’t turn out to be a successful formula.
As a boyhood fan and former player who discovered the continental ways at Monaco in the mid nineties Collins has strong opinions on what he wants to see from a Celtic side- and c crucially the men to deliver it.

Would Frank Lampard be a successful Celtic manager?
Yes, top player and showing great signs in management
No way, he is a novice with a name
Robbie Martinez: would seem to be out of reach with Belgium preparing for the European Championships with the incentive of the World Cup next year
Eddie Howe: Has been out of work since resigning from Bournemouth in August. He will be linked with most EPL jobs but Celtic offers the chance of silverware and European experience.
Jesse Marsch: An impressive cog in the Red Bull machine, the American was assistant at the Leipzig branch and is proving successful across the border in Austria.
Frank Lampard: Recently sacked by Chelsea, he did a decent job with Derby County in the Championship but there is a lack of substance to his managerial CV.
