Sandra White has hit out at the disgraceful situation her Glasgow Central constituents have been put under due to inaction from Police Scotland.
Following unlawful scenes involving thousands of people at Ibrox encouraged by their club Police Scotland were given ample warning over what could be in store today.
Across Social Media it was made clear that George Square was the target for an unlawful gathering with Police Scotland aware from 2pm what to expect.
I’m Constituency MSP for Glasgow City Centre and I’ve been on to Police on behalf of my constituents who are having to put up with this disgraceful situation on their doorstep perhaps you might spare a thought for them

@CC_Livingstone As MSP GCC can I ask what Police Scotland are doing about the disgraceful situation my constituents are having to endure we have people blatantly breaking the law , drinking in the street and general anti social behaviour I would like a reply

This is an absolute disgrace. We’re in the middle of a lockdown and the police are escorting thousands of fans chanting through the streets. You couldn’t make it up.
Rangers deserve to win the league. They deserve to celebrate. But within the rules. This will cause lives. https://t.co/JIfwQlzM3U

With the congratulations of Nicola Sturgeon thousands have opted to break Lockdown and head to George Square, in many cases being escorted there by uniformed police officers.
With darkness falling and thousands milling around aimlessly local residents know better than to venture outdoors for fresh air or to exercise.
Absolutely disgusting scenes in Glasgow right now. @policescotland are failing to disperse far right-wing english nationalists that are gathering en mass across parts of Glasgow ignoring Covid-19 lockdown restrictions. @NicolaSturgeon must get the police to act now! https://t.co/uMZNfrI9tw

This isn’t today! No way! We’re all on lockdown in our own bubbles. @policescotland can I go visit my elderly relatives now @NicolaSturgeon @MhairiBlack is this ok? https://t.co/7peRUXtyTo

Hi @NicolaSturgeon . My son was recently fined £30 for playing football with his friends. I’m sure you can understand why so many folk are furious with you for pandering to Rangers and their fans.

Karen Reissmann is a nurse who has worked through this pandemic and fought for the rights of workers in the NHS and beyond. She has been hit with a £10,000 fine for a socially distanced demo of 40 people, all wearing masks. She has my full support ?https://t.co/kqW11SDpoR
