Olivier Ntcham started his first Ligue 1 match but last just 45 minutes before being replaced by Saif Khaoui as Marseille lost 2-0 away to Lille.
The bad news didn’t end there with the on-loan Celtic midfielder given a 3 for his performance by L’equipe. While the ‘man-by’s’ in Scotland are rarely taken too seriously in France it is a different matter with L’equipe going into great detail on every match. CLICK HERE for full match details.

After a difficult first half of the season the loan move to Marseille was viewed as the perfect change of scenery to revive Ntcham’s fortunes.
Newcastle United were also interested but a return to France seemed sensible but the day after the loan was completed Andre Villas Boas made his dissent known before resigning as first team coach.
With Marseilles sitting in seventh place in Ligue 1, 23 points behind Lille. Unless things pick up quickly it seems unlikely that the loan deal for Ntcham will be converted into a permanent move in the summer.
