The SFA’s long drawn out treatment of Nathan Patterson and his Covidiot team-mates is attracting attention of fans suspicious of the football authorities.

Five Ibrox stars were issued with Fixed Penalties in the early hours of February 14 after attending a ‘house party’ in Glasgow’s west end.

Four days later Steven Gerrard named the players involved and announced internal disciplinary procedures.

Six weeks later the SFA has still to take any action. Last Thursday a Disciplinary Meeting was held with the bizarre announcement to favoured outlets that no outcome would be announced for four days. Last night the Daily Record announced that a further day had been added.

The treatment of Patterson is in stark contrast to others. On August 10 it emerged that Boli Bolingoli had travelled to Spain and not self isolated on return, on August 28 he was given a three match suspension.

On November 2 Jordan Jones and George Edmondson were caught attending a house party, on November 19 they were handed seven match suspensions.

Five days after Patterson got his Fixed Penalty James Tavernier suffered a sore leg.
