Willie Collum will referee next Sunday’s Glasgow derby if it goes ahead as planned.
The Lanarkshire based official has had a troubled time in Glasgow derbies going back to his first appointment in 2010 when he awarded Rangers a penalty while having his back turned to play.
In his last Derby appointment he sent Jeremie Frimpong off in the 2019 Betfred Cup Final at Hampden but Celtic won the trophy thanks to a goal from Chris Jullien.
Collum has already been in charge of five Celtic matches this season including the recent 1-0 win over Aberdeen and the 2-2 draw away to Livingston on a snow-covered plastic pitch.
Kevin Clancy will be the fourth official for the 12 noon kick off with Frank Connor and Sean Carr the assistants. In their first 32 SPFL matches Steven Gerrard’s side haven’t had a player sent off or conceded a penalty.
It is believed that talks involving the Scottish Government and Police relating to the March 21 clash are continuing today with a decision expected early next week.
