Getting Gerry McCulloch involved to tell Celtic fans to stay at home next Sunday wasn’t the best choice from the club.

After forking out to get barriers installed around Celtic Park yesterday the club was called to a meeting with the Scottish Government and Police Scotland on Friday afternoon.

Due to the inability of one group of supporters to obey the law of the land while their manager screams encouragement out of a Dressing Room window Celtic have been dragged into a programme of issuing security messages all week.

For many Celtic fans sharing a city is bad enough, with the football world about to get a week long co-ordinated programme of messages this season is going from bad to worse.

Add in the former SuperScoreboard host to the mix and the message being sent out is partly being lost by the delivery style of McCulloch who is never likely to win any popularity contest among Celtic fans.

Forced to watch at home on a variable quality stream having McCulloch sugar coat some dreadful displays certainly isn’t the Added Value that was promised when the club was whipping up the #celticfamily to show their support by buying Season Tickets with no guarantee that they will be inside the ground at any point this season.

Next Sunday’s match will be on Sky Sports as well as Celtic TV.
