Realising the extent of the mayhem in Glasgow city centre the First Minister has urged Ibrox fans to stop breaking the law.
Perhaps if Police Scotland had enforced the law and cordoned off George Square rather than escorting fans across the city things may have been different.
With multiple entrances to the square and thousands of fans milling around the city centre in darkness Police Scotland are facing a losing battle to maintain the peace.
I share folks’ anger at this. Everyone has made so many sacrifices in the past year & seeing a minority risk our progress is infuriating & disgraceful. It is deeply unfair to the entire country, and the police have a hard enough job already. Please ask fans to go home @RangersFC https://t.co/haH5DAzhIh

Using a tweet from Radio Clyde showing fans starting to gather the First Minister emphasised her joy at a title success for Steven Gerrard’s side.
Ignoring the scenes of unrest at Ibrox yesterday the First Minister has had to backtrack with social distancing effectively over and people from all walks of life registering their dismay at the light hearted nature of Sturgeon’s initial tweet.
Ok Police what are you doing about the anti social behaviour still going on in City Centre seriously Qs need to be asked and answers forthcoming. BTW would be good to get a reply back

Sandra, I’ve phoned @policescotland about them kicking bins, windows as they pass House of Fraser. This is no celebration! No masks + friends felt threatened when returning home after dropping stuff off to us as we’re shielding. Drinking in street, sectarian chants – unacceptable!

We now have helicopters had Police horses earlier , people still drinking in the street , I’ll be asking just how much this so called Policing cost and if Football Club will be paying for it
