Sturgeon backtracks as she realises the extent of Glasgow city centre mayhem

Realising the extent of the mayhem in Glasgow city centre the First Minister has urged Ibrox fans to stop breaking the law.

Perhaps if Police Scotland had enforced the law and cordoned off George Square rather than escorting fans across the city things may have been different.

With multiple entrances to the square and thousands of fans milling around the city centre in darkness Police Scotland are facing a losing battle to maintain the peace.

Using a tweet from Radio Clyde showing fans starting to gather the First Minister emphasised her joy at a title success for Steven Gerrard’s side.

Ignoring the scenes of unrest at Ibrox yesterday the First Minister has had to backtrack with social distancing effectively over and people from all walks of life registering their dismay at the light hearted nature of Sturgeon’s initial tweet.
