The source of the Chris Wilder to Celtic story is an independent club website that has attracted less than 1,500 Twitter followers in two and a half years.
That period has been the best that Sheffield United have enjoyed this century with an unexpected promotion win and very impressive return to the EPL where they were never bothered by relegation despite being favourites for a swift return.
Every website has their day, when they get wind of that massive story ahead of anyone else but if the Wilder story is true then it would be the biggest in the history of SUN.
Saturday evening tends to be a graveyard shift for websites with folk switching off their phones and finding other things to do. It is a tough gig to find content that is going to drive traffic.
Tonight Sheffield United News reports:
According to Sheffield United News sources, the delay in Sheffield United announcing the departure of Chris Wilder is down to interest from Celtic.
Our sources tell us that despite reports yesterday the delay was down to Wilder’s hefty compensation package that is due if the club sack him, that it is actually Celtic who United are demanding money off.
The Scottish giants are said to be keen on bringing Wilder to Parkhead and sources tell us here at Sheffield United News that the Blades are indeed demanding the Bhoys pay a big chunk of change to land Wilder.

Until this season Wilder has enjoyed something of a Midas touch in management, working his way into the top flight through hard graft and results rather than a glittering playing career.
At Oxford United and Northampton he was a glittering success, earning the Sheffield United job in May 2016 while they were in League One.
His record is impressive but having signed the two Oli’s- McBurnie and Burke those decisions overwhelm everything else on his managerial record. Neither have shown themselves to be anything close to a competent top flight striker.
There may be something strange going on over his protracted exit, Sheffield United News may have uncovered an incredible story but as things stand the story still has to develop arms and legs.
