‘What was the point in that’ ‘absolutely heehaw’ ‘Wasting my time reading that’ Celtic fans underwhelmed by Desmond Exclusive!

Celtic fans were left utterly underwhelmed from seven answers to questions put to Dermot Desmond on the club website.

Other than stating that the incoming CEO (Dom McKay) would be involved in the process of appointing a new manager there was nothing newsworthy in the ‘interview’ which chose to criticise Brian Dempsey who was involved in a takeover 27 years ago!

If the purpose of the Q and A was to improve fan engagement it was a classic OG, by the time the club gets round to asking fans to renew Season Tickets they will need to up their game considerably.

Every question was met with a standard and predictable reply which was basically for supporters to trust the decision makers that led the club into a disastrous season.

From the ‘recruitment process’ that appointed Neil Lennon two years ago to the repeated failure to progress the club in the Champions League it is difficult to highlight any area of the club that is performing well.

Desmond’s message comes at a time when the club captain is expected to leave for Aberdeen joining the vacuum of a lame duck CEO and vacancy in the manager’s office.
