Steven Gerrard has asked Police Scotland to ignore the widespread law breaking at Ibrox which the former England star and his players encouraged.

In the middle of a Lockdown that has been in place for more than two months due to a global pandemic, thousands gathered around the Stadium in full view of the Police who seemed to be in containment mode while Gerrard and his players hung out windows and ran to the Stadium gates to interact with law-breakers.

Social Media was swamped with shared videos of the incidents with the Ibrox boss car sharing to allow a friend to video his triumphant arrival.

At lunchtime Police Scotland announced that no arrests had been made, later in the day an anonymous Scottish Government spokesperson claimed that they were disappointed with no mention of repercussions.

Rather than distance himself from the unlawful actions of thousands, Gerrard told The Sun:

Safety is paramount at the moment but it’s tough because it has been an emotional three years for me.

The fans have been here for much longer than that and have been through a lot in ten years. So you can certainly understand it.

We heard the rumours about how it could be when we turned up at the stadium. That can take you to an emotional place, a real high.

The SFA and SPFL have made no comment about multiple breaches of protocol which look certain to set back the case for allowing fans to return to stadiums as well as jeopardise Hampden’s hopes of staging matches at the European Championships in June.

After mixing with multiple households at Ibrox yesterday, sharing cars and Public Transport yesterday the Ibrox Covidiots will now be in supermarkets taking children to school and other forms of social mixing.
