With one emoji the short-list to become the next Celtic manager has apparently increased.
Last weekend Eddie Howe seemed almost over the line till his agent emptied a bucket of ice-cold water over that notion in a brief message to Sky Sports. Prior to the former Bournemouth boss it had appeared third time lucky with Roy Keane set to end his decade out of front line management.
Now, seven weeks after Neil Lennon resigned, Celtic are heading to Ibrox in a cup tie that has to be won to keep a miserable season flickering on.
